Since last week, we've been continuing our journey, heading straight to the heart of the Mediterranean: Sardinia, a rugged land rich in wild aromatic plants, full of meaning and properties. The ancients already knew the surprising powers of these herbs; through customs and legends, this knowledge became part of popular tradition, leading to today's notions of phytotherapy, aromatherapy, and herbalism. The plants of Sardinia are shaped by the island's climate and wind-swept terrain, reflecting its wild vibration. Sage Its name comes from the Latin "salvus," meaning safe. Its healing power was so well-known that it earned the name "Salvia Officinalis." In the countryside, it was believed that the health of spouses and their firstborn depended on the health of the Sage plant in the garden. It was anciently used for divination purposes. Clary Sage, in fact, increases the ability to dream: a few drops on the pillow or a handkerchief enhance dream activity. A plant to surround oneself with, to smell when awaiting an intuition. Myrtle A plant dedicated to Venus, in ancient culture (Greeks, Etruscans, and Romans) it was a good omen, a symbol of purity and love, earning it the name "Myrtus Coniugalis." Myrtle has always been connected to purification, which is why it was used to crown heads, to mark newborns, and to cleanse battlefields. A plant to use to combat negative moods, obsessive thoughts, and mental dullness. Laurel It has always been the scent of victory and knowledge. Its warm, intense, and spicy scent brings awareness, dignity, and confidence. A sunny, evergreen tree, in antiquity it represented mental clarity and an inspired, creative mind capable of important decisions. Physically, it increases endurance and facilitates digestive processes. Juniper Juniper is a plant full of meanings. It derives from the Greek aekèuthos, from arkeo, a verb meaning "to ward off": it wards off diseases, snakes, enemies, but even more so, evil spells and unpleasant thoughts. This was true in pagan customs, later absorbed by Christian ones, so much so that it is said that the Holy Family was hidden from Herod by a Juniper tree. Its strength is confirmed by the fact that its wood is not attacked by woodworms. It is useful after an unpleasant encounter or during times of particular stress. A dip in Cala Sabina, the scent of the Sardinian Mediterranean Maquis Effervescent, distinct, and proud. | This perfume is born from botanical research conducted on the marvelous Cala Sabina beach with the wild plants that grow there, extracted by steam distillation. The active ingredients of Juniper and Rosemary stimulate circulation while Myrtle purifies it and Helichrysum soothes it, for complete care after sun exposure.
