Essential oils extracted from Flowers
Sort by:
The grace of flowers in a precious drop
Essential Oils distilled from Flowers encapsulate the most delicate grace of the plant world. Rose, Jasmine, Neroli, Chamomile, Helichrysum: these are some of the rarest and most precious essential oils and absolutes, capable of restoring the ephemeral beauty of a flower and its luminous presence. In aromatherapy, they accompany the opening of the heart, emotional sweetness, and inner harmony.
Olfattiva essential oils are pure, whole, and 100% natural. They originate from a careful and rigorous selection, refined over twenty years of experience, and tell the story of the plant's origin, the producer's work, the extraction method, and the seasonality of the harvest. For flowers, this care is even more important, as they are the most fragile and precious raw materials.
How they are born: distillation and extraction
Many flowers are obtained by steam distillation: the plant is placed in an alembic, where water vapor passes through it, extracting its aromatic molecules, which then separate from the water in the Florentine vase. This is the case, for example, for Chamomile and distilled Rose.
Some flowers, however, are too fragile and rich in delicate molecules to withstand the heat of distillation: for these, extraction is used, which yields the absolute, capable of preserving the flower's fragrance in its entirety. This is the case for Jasmine and some processing of Rose.
Flowers contain very little essential oil, and their harvesting requires extraordinary time and care: for one kilogram of Jasmine absolute, approximately eight million flowers collected before dawn are needed; for the same quantity of Rose, up to five tons of hand-picked petals are required. It is this preciousness that makes floral essential oils true jewels.
Essential oil is the soul of the plant
Every time you smell the petal of a flower, the scent you perceive is that of the essential oil contained in the plant. Essential oil is a complex mixture of odorous molecules, and from a subtle perspective, it is the soul of the plant: sun, water, air, earth, and subtle energies become a flower and, through the essential oil, interact with humans.
In flowers, this soul is expressed with particular delicacy and elegance. It is a richness that cannot be synthetically recreated: an artificial reproduction might approach the smell, but it would never have the properties or the energetic information of the flower. Olfattiva floral essential oils are pure and complete, never reconstructed.
How we select them
The selection of floral essential oils requires experience, olfactory sensitivity, and deep botanical knowledge, because they are precious and easily adulterable raw materials. For each essential oil and absolute, we verify the botanical name, origin, extraction method, and quality of distillation, always accompanying this with olfactory and aromatherapy evaluation.
We work with a network of selected producers, with whom we have built direct and lasting relationships: this allows us to know the history of each flower, from cultivation to harvesting. For the rarest raw materials, traceability is essential, as it guarantees the authenticity of an essential oil that could otherwise be easily imitated.
Only when all these elements are consistent does the raw material enter the Olfattiva catalog: a carefully chosen, traced, and recognizable jewel.
The properties of floral essential oils
Essential oils distilled from flowers are traditionally associated with heart opening and emotional harmony. Rose opens to understanding, love, and listening, connecting one with their deep inner self, and possesses precious dermo-cosmetic properties. Jasmine is sensual and enveloping; Neroli brings serenity and luminosity; Chamomile promotes calm and has a soothing action. Helichrysum is a precious flower, known for its pronounced properties.
These essential oils address the emotional sphere with great delicacy, ideal for those seeking inner well-being as well as olfactory pleasure. Many floral notes also have a balancing and harmonizing effect, making them ideal companions for self-care moments, daily rituals, and meditation practices.
How to use them
Floral essential oils are splendid for environmental diffusion, where they bring harmony and delicacy: use up to 10 drops in water-based diffusers, 5-7 in cold diffusers. Rose and Neroli, in particular, create a collected and gentle atmosphere, ideal for self-care moments.
In general, we do not recommend applying pure essential oils directly to the skin: for topical use, they should be diluted in a vegetable oil. Damask Rose, thanks to its dermo-cosmetic properties, is also a protagonist in the Face Line, in the Rose and Sandalwood Elixir serum, where it is expertly dosed in a dedicated formula.
For crystal therapy and rituals with stones, some floral essential oils are suggested pairings: Jasmine, Neroli, and Rose, for example, accompany Rose Quartz, for those who feel the need to embrace their emotions and open their hearts.
How to store them
To best preserve the quality of floral essential oils, we recommend storing them away from direct light, heat, and temperature fluctuations. They are living and particularly precious raw materials: proper storage helps maintain their aromatic profile and properties intact.
As rare and high-value raw materials, taking care of them also means respecting the extraordinary work that generated them: from the patient harvesting of millions of flowers to careful processing. Storing them well is the best way to honor this preciousness.
Natural, vegan, and cruelty-free
All Olfattiva essential oils are 100% natural, pure, and whole. They are vegan and cruelty-free, because we exclusively use raw materials of plant origin and do not use any animal derivatives. Olfattiva is certified AIAB Bio Eco Cosmesi and Vegan OK.
We believe in the law of resonance: what goes into a formula carries a story, a vibration, information. This is why our citrus essential oils carry only the living and luminous message of the plant, in full respect of Nature and every living being.
What 100% natural means
In the world of essential oils, some words can be ambiguous. They are often used to indicate fragrances that have little or nothing natural about them: synthetic mixtures, reconstructed in the laboratory, sometimes presented as close to the plant world. Olfattiva chose a different path from 2006, because our work stems from a faithful listening to the plant.
Our essential oils are pure and complete: they are not reconstituted, they are not diluted with synthetic substances, they do not contain chemical fixatives. Each oil retains the original complexity of the plant, its aromatic part but also its more subtle strength, that living quality that acts on personal well-being and the atmosphere of spaces. For citrus fruits, this means preserving the vibrant freshness of the peel exactly as it is in nature, without artificially reconstructing it.
Olfattiva was born from a need for purity and a bet: a truly natural perfume is possible. We have been saying this since 2006 and continue to believe it, choosing every day to fully preserve the properties of plants.
The Workshop: where matter takes shape
The Olfattiva Workshop is located in Massa Lombarda, in the province of Ravenna, in the heart of Romagna. It is here that every essential oil is welcomed, evaluated, and stored, and it is here that raw materials become perfumes, synergies, and aromatherapy products, through careful and conscious gestures.
The packaging is entirely done by hand: a choice that not only concerns the making, but also the way the product is accompanied to its final form. While working, we try to maintain beautiful, clean, and luminous thoughts, because we believe that every gesture leaves a trace and every intention accompanies the matter. For citrus fruits, careful processing preserves the vibrant freshness of cold pressing, which is delicate and precious.
It is this combination of rigor, expertise, and artisanal care that makes every Olfattiva essential oil an authentic and recognizable raw material, the result of over twenty years of experience in the service of Nature. When you offer a citrus essential oil, you offer much more than a perfume: you offer the living identity of a plant.
Flowers in skincare and rituals
Floral essential oils are not just fragrance: many have precious dermo-cosmetic properties. Damask Rose, for example, has pronounced antioxidant and decongestant properties, soothes and supports skin microcirculation, so much so that it is the protagonist of the Rose and Sandalwood Elixir facial serum in the Face Line.
Flowers also accompany self-care rituals and meditation practices: their delicacy creates a collected and harmonious atmosphere. In crystal therapy, they are suggested pairings for various stones: Jasmine, Neroli, and Rose accompany Rose Quartz, for those who feel the need to embrace their emotions and open their hearts.
It is this dual nature - aesthetic and emotional, dermo-cosmetic and aromatherapeutic - that makes floral essential oils so precious and complete.
Pairings and synergies with flowers
Flowers lend themselves to the creation of refined and elegant synergies. They pair with citrus fruits for fresh and luminous compositions, and with woods for deep and enveloping perfumes. Rose and Jasmine are the protagonists of the most precious compositions, including the eau de toilette from the I Preziosi line.
For those who love to experiment, we suggest careful dosing, because flowers have an intense character and a marked presence. Even a few drops in diffusion are enough to bring harmony and delicacy to the environment, transforming a space into a place of grace and contemplation.
Safe use and practical advice
Essential oils are extremely concentrated raw materials: a few drops contain a large amount of plant. For this reason, they should be used with respect and caution. The most important rule is never to apply them pure to the skin: for topical use, they must always be carried in a vegetable oil, such as sweet almond or jojoba oil, or in a neutral cream, to make them more delicate and safe.
When an essential oil is added to a cream or vegetable oil, a true aromatherapeutic product is obtained: during massage, the active ingredients work locally, while the odorous molecules reach the limbic system through the sense of smell, promoting emotional balance and well-being. This is what we call transdermal aromatherapy.
In the presence of animals, essential oils can be diffused with caution and common sense: our pets have a much more developed sense of smell than ours. It is better to choose delicate notes, use them sparingly, allow the animal to move away, and ventilate the rooms well. In case of doubt, it is always advisable to seek the advice of a veterinarian.
Essential oil, an ancient and precious ally
Essential oils have accompanied humans for millennia. For the most fragile flowers, even in ancient times, efforts were made to capture their scent: the technique of extraction, which today allows for obtaining absolutes, preserves the flower's fragrance in its entirety, where the heat of distillation would alter it.
Flowers have always been associated with beauty, care, and the emotional sphere. Rose and Jasmine, in particular, traverse the history of perfumery and traditional medicine as precious and symbolic raw materials. Today, Olfattiva preserves their quality with rigorous selection, offering authentic essential oils and absolutes.
Offering a floral essential oil means offering a small jewel: an ally of grace and emotional harmony, precious for diffusion, skin care, and wellness rituals.
Why choose Olfattiva essential oils
Choosing an Olfattiva floral essential oil means choosing a living, pure, and traced raw material, the result of a selection that begins long before the laboratory and an artisanal processing that preserves its integrity. Not just a product, but the soul of a plant, brought into everyday life with respect.
The grace of flowers, preserved through distillation and extraction, is a gift of delicacy and emotional harmony: a small jewel for self-care and wellness rituals.
When you use it, you hold in your hands an essential oil that is carefully chosen, recognizable, and authentic: every drop carries the plant's origin, the producer's work, the extraction method, and the seasonality of the harvest. This is what makes Olfattiva essential oils different: not the imitation of a scent, but the living message of Nature, preserved without compromise and in full respect of every living being.
Sun, wind, water, and subtle energies become a plant.
Essential oil is the Soul of the plant that interacts with Man.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Utilizzalo insieme all'aceto bianco o acido citrico in lavatrice, al posto dell'ammorbidente.
Sì, in quanto Olfattiva è Azienda certificata AIAB Bio Eco Cosmesi.
Alarino, invece, richiede poche gocce (5-10).
