Essential oils for facial care
Cold weather and smog are harsh on our skin, so it's a good idea to start taking care of it a few weeks before winter sets in. At the same time, a fragrant ritual, a preparation, and an act of self-care become a lovely pampering treat to enjoy during moments of relaxation. Facial Steam Baths Just like with vapor inhalations, you can create beneficial steam baths for your facial skin. A few drops of essential oil are added to a basin of boiling water, varying according to your needs: - Lemon and Lavender for oily skin - Chamomile and Rose for irritated, sensitive or reddened skin - Vetiver and Ylang Ylang for dry skin Natural Toners An excellent and easy recipe for a DIY toner: infuse chamomile (preferably flowers, which can be bought at a herbalist's shop). Once cooled, add 1/3 distilled water or, if possible, water from a good spring. To this mixture, which we will pour into a small bottle, a few drops of soothing Chamomile andLavender or purifying Lemon, Ylang Ylang, Vetiver, Rose, Geranium, or, for more mature skin, Orange and Neroli can be added. Following this deep cleansing, it is a good habit to properly hydrate your skin with your preferred cream, which can also be enriched with a few drops of essential oil. With winter also comes chapped lips. Shea butter is an excellent lip balm: simply place a few grams of butter in a small aluminum container to always carry with you and enrich it with a few drops of Mandarin, Orange, Lemon, Chamomile, or Vanilla. This simple recipe could also become a gift idea for friends who are more attentive to INCI ;) A warm greeting, Barbara Pozzi and Olfattiva staff*
