Oral care with essential oils
Essential oils can help you take care of your entire mouth, from teeth to gums, providing a natural remedy against canker sores and bad breath. It is well known that commercial toothpaste tubes contain substances that are not precisely beneficial for the body; if you want to make a natural and ecological choice, this is a quick and practical recipe for a powdered toothpaste: 2 tablespoons of clay (green or white) 1 tablespoon of fine salt 2 drops of Lemon essential oil 2 drops of Peppermint essential oil Just mix everything with a blender and store it in a jar. It is sufficient to dip the toothbrush in this powder and moisten it before brushing your teeth. To whiten teeth, however, Swiss tradition has handed down a little secret to us, a remedy with which to brush our smile occasionally: 1 tablespoon of powdered dried orange peel 1 tablespoon of powdered dried sage 1 teaspoon of baking soda 1 teaspoon of salt 5 drops of Lemon 1 drop of Peppermint and, if you have gum problems, 1 drop of Myrrh. Myrrh essential oil has always been used in gum care, to keep them healthy or to make unhealthy ones healthy. You can perform rinses by preparing the following solution: 2 drops of Myrrh in a tablespoon of Vodka, mix well. Add 3-4 drops of this preparation to a glass of water and use it for rinsing. As for bad breath, in most cases this problem goes far beyond oral hygiene. Add the following oils, depending on the origin of the problem, to a teaspoon of brandy, pour it into a glass of warm water, and use this to rinse: For digestive problems: 2 drops of Peppermint 2 drops of Lemon Gum disease and problems: 2 drops of Tea Tree 2 drops of Thyme General Bad Breath: 4 drops of Lavender For children Children often suffer from canker sores; in this case, moisten cotton with a drop of Orange essential oil and dab the small lesion. If the child has gum problems or cavities, pour a drop of Roman Chamomile, Lavender, or Myrrh into a glass of warm water and rinse, without swallowing. A radiant smile to all, Olfattiva* Staff
